I haven’t been able to update as often as I’d like to, but fear not, amazing things are on the way! The past three weeks or so have been particularly busy with garden projects, chickens laying, joining a fitness bootcamp, family life and work. This week I’m on campus attending lectures and doing class assignments for the penultimate class, in my final year of postgraduate studies. At some point between now and the end of March I will need to submit a research proposal. All of that is keeping me quite busy, but I am very excited about a couple of things I have been planning for the blog.
Firstly, there are a few new product reviews on the way. One is of a nifty gadget I received as a Valentine’s Day gift. It is not the usual sort of gift for that day. I can reveal that it is something very cute, entertaining, eco-friendly, energy saving and incredibly useful during powercuts / load shedding.
Speaking of reviews, I will soon start posting videos on the site. They’ll be demos of products, tutorials in the garden and kitchen, walk abouts in the garden to keep a good record of what is growing and where, and so on. I’ve already posted the 4×4 video I captured of Hubby at Groenkloof, which he posted on his youtube page. These videos will feature yours truly…I am super excited and quite nervous about this. I’ve had some fun shooting a couple of them already. I’m waiting for a video lighting softbox kit to be delivered this week and we should be good to go.
I love my Canon SX50 HS camera for shooting everything from macros to pictures of the craters on the moon, but it isn’t perfect for video because there’s no audio jack for microphone. So the audio for now will direct from the camera…it is fine, but not 100% great. Hubby told me that Canon is releasing the EOS 750D & 760D in a couple of months. I had wanted the 70D but I will now wait for reviews of the 760D.
Give-aways & social media:
There are some awesome give-aways coming soon, with the launch of the Facebook and Twitter pages. Some of the give-aways will be a number of items that the eco-conscious moms and dads may appreciate, for their little ones.
Keep checking back for all this goodness. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I have been enjoying getting it all together.
