This past weekend we took the dogs to Walkhaven off leash dog park, and this time I remembered to put a charged battery & a memory card in my camera. I only took the 18-55mm kit lens and the 50mm because they are very light. The heatwave made the thought of lugging the 100mm around close to nightmarish.
I didn’t get any good pictures of birds…and there were some striking ones, but I did get some nice shots of insects, which I always enjoy stalking.
These blue dragonflies were everywhere. I didn’t see any of their red counterparts.
Then there were the bees on these highly ornamental thistles. I think they might be invasive. If they weren’t I’d definitely plant some.
The pictures were shot on my Canon Eos 700D, with no post processing done because it it hot and I’m a bit lazy.
In case you haven’t been to Walkhaven, here’s a video I made last year in winter on what the park has to offer.
